Ermita Nueva consists of three key areas: The Ventorrillo, Acequia and the Pilillas with about 800 inhabitants in total. It owes its name to the construction of the village in the year of the French revolution, 1789. The present village was constructed in 1974 after the demolition of the original one. Ermita Nueva is located to the south of Alcala La Real, next to the N-432 highway and bordering the province of Granada .
